Who gets Grandma's yellow pie plate? Minimize
Workshop offered April 28, 2010

Everyone has personal belongings such as wedding photographs, a baseball glove
or a yellow pie plate that contain meaning for them and for other family
members. Planning to pass on such items can be challenging.
To provide practical information about the inheritance of personal property the
Staples Community Foundation will present a planned giving workshop for the
public  Wednesday, April 28, from 5:15-8 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church in
Staples.
Becky Hagen Jokela, Regional Extension Educator and Extension Professor, will be
the presenter and facilitator. She has a masters degree in Family and Consumer
Science from the University of Wisconsin-Stout and she has an accredited
financial counselor designation from the Association for Financial Counseling
and Planning Education. Jokela has worked for the University of Minnesota
Extension for 16 years in Family Resource Management.
Onsite registration will begin at 5:15 p.m. and a light supper will be served
until 6 p.m. The presentation and break-out sessions along with a question and
answer period will be from 6-8 p.m. A workbook will be given to all attendees.
The workshop is offered at no cost to the public, but pre-registration is
requested so enough meals and workbooks will be available.
Call Mary Theurer at 218-894-3752 for more information or to register.
The workshop is sponsored by the Staples Community Foundation in conjunction
with the Initiative Foundation.
The Staples Community Foundation is a component fund of the Initiative
Foundation.

in the Greater Staples Area.

An Investment in Community!

...Ever think you would like a way to make a permanent long term investment in our community?

...Ever think you you would like to make a contribution that would have a long term positive impact on the quality of life in our community?

...Ever think that you would like to "give back" to a community which has given so much to you and your family?

If so... a contribution to the Staples Community Foundation might be something to think about!

The entire principle of contributions to the Staples Community Foundation will be held in a permanent endowment. The income of this endowment, once it has reached a reasonable level, will be distributed through grants in the Staples area to support local charitable endeavors.
